Bangalore to Mantralayam and back on Honda Hornet 160R
While on a busy and stressful week i though to go far from home and office to release all my stress. So thought to visit Mantralayam temple.
It lies on the banks of the Tungabhadra river on the border with neighbouring Karnataka state. The village is known for the brindavan of Raghavendra Swami, a saint who lived in 17th Century and who entered into a samadhi alive in front of his disciples.
Plan and Ride
I planned this ride a day before i.e, i planned on saturday and rode on sunday. If you ask me how i will plan for the long rides, the answer is i’ve already planned for my life time for long rides so no worries on that 😉
On timings i planned to start the ride by 4:30 AM and return home by 12am midnight. So got up at 4am and started the ride at 5am, don’t worry abt 30min delay.
Before i leave home i always pray to lord Anjanaya to make this trip safe. Said bye to mom and started the ride at 5am. It was cold and pollution free, i’m always slow on dark so was slow on city. Took bit time from Basaveshwarnagar to devanahalli, by the time i reached devanahalli dark went down n sun stated to show up, go confident and twisted throttle bit hard.
From Devanahalli i started to cruise at 90km/h+ till Chikkaballapurs.
From Chikkaballapura i started cruising at 100km/h and till Anantpur the road is super awesome. In just 2hr 45min i reached Anantpur which is of 200kms. Stopped for breakfast at Anantpur. Had Idly vada for better digestion and energy. Always prefer Idly on travel.
After breakfast continued my journey. Next stop was Gooty which was around 50 Kms. Till Gooty the road is awesome, then we have to take diversion and move towards Adoni which is of 70 Kms, its a single road and at some places there are few patch works, but the view is good entire way.
From Adoni to Mantralayam the road was awesome, it was a newly constructed road and its a single road BTW. In no time i reached Mantralaya in this road. By 1:00 PM i was in Mantralayam.
Parked my bike and directly went to river but i was sad to see there was no water in Tunga river. And it was damn hot, could not spend much time so visited temple and left by 3 PM and reached home by 10:30 PM.
