Chitradurga Fort – A small ride from Bangalore
Hello Friends, Today I’m sharing with you my Chitradurga Fort ride experience. As we hear Chitradurga we remember only one thing i.e Fort, yes we do remember that because its a famous historic place.
So where is Chitradurga?
Chitradurga is 188 km away from Bangalore, Karnataka. You can go for a one day ride just like i did. The fort was built in stages between the 17th and 18th centuries by the dynastic rulers of the region, including theRashtrakutas, Chalukyas and Hoysalas as well as the Nayakas of Chitradurga, feudal lords in the Vijayanagar Empire.
Our Ride Experience
First, let me talk about my journey. I and my friends left Bengaluru at 5:30 AM and reached Fort at 10:00 AM. We took a lot of time because we took a lot of breaks while riding. It was a good ride with a superb road. Once you cross Tumkur you get a 3 lane road which is too big for bikers! we cruised at 90-100 km/h. Had our breakfast at Kamat Hotel near Sira then continued our journey. Reached Fort at 10:00 AM.
Entrance fee is just 5 INR, so not to worry about the entrance fee. Once you get inside u feel you are inside a puzzle maze and you can find Jyothi Raj(Kothi Rama) there. After finishing the entrance u see the entire fort with full of rocks. Yes, that’s the actual fort. When we went there it was too hot.
Fort is too big and you need a lot of energy to see the entire fort. We were really tired by the time we saw “Obavvana kindi”, but still there was a lot to see. The final hill was challenging for us, we drunk a lot of water but not enough. We could not spend a lot of time there because of the hot weather.
Quickly finished seeing everything and left there by 2:00 PM. By the time we reached Bangalore, it was 6:00 PM.
The experience of Fort was not the best but our ride was quite good. So, I suggest you guys visit this place in winter or whenever it’s cloudy.
I did not take many pictures there but I took videos, do please watch my video to see inside Chitradurga Fort.
