Ride to Hogenakkal Falls from Bengaluru | Honda hornet 160r
Hogenakkal falls is one of the best day trip for your weekend from Bengaluru. Experience one of the best view of Kaveri river. Lets start.

It was a very busy week for me at work, seeing that I cancelled this amazing ride to Hogenakkal falls. But later thought happiness is more important than money, work will be always there, skipping for a day won’t make any big deal. Thought not to miss this ride and joined the group.
Plan was to meet at Koramangala at 5:00 AM. Starting early is always a better idea. Planned a day before as per my article “How to plan for a long ride” and “10 tips for long motorcycle ride”. Got up at 3:30 AM, took a nice bath, geared up and left home at 4:30 AM.
It was quite exciting to meet new riders of the group and old riders as well. We plan this kind of group rides every 2 months. It will be great time to hang out with them and even to know each other face to face instead of just texting in whatsapp group.
Route Plan
We planned this route bit longer one and mostly on main highway.
Our Route Plan : Bengaluru -> Hosur -> Krishnagiri -> Dharmapuri -> Hogenakkal falls
This route is 190 km. Quite long in distance but road condition is just awesome. For better route travel this way.
Regular Route : Bengaluru -> Hosur -> Denkanikottai -> Anchetty -> Hogenakkal falls
This route is 140km. It has a very good scenic spots on the way. I suggest you to take this way instead of just travelling on highway.
Not sure why they planned the longest route, but anyways it was a good road.
The route which we planned has many hotels on the way but not sure about the regular route.
Once crossing Dharmapuri road becomes smaller and thrilling. We enjoy curves, yes the road was for us. It is always fun to ride on state highways than National highways which are boring after some time. When getting close to Hogenakkal Watrfalls we could see the excellent view on the way. Felt like ghat section. Stopped at one spot and had a photoshoot.
By the time we reached Hogenakkal waterfalls sun was strainght about our head. It was damn hot, we all were sweating.
It was a big struggle to park our bikes in parking lot of hogenakkal waterfalls. There was some festival or special Pooja, due to this there were many vehicles parked. Yes we need to pay parking fee.
About Hogenakkal Waterfalls
Hogenakkal is a waterfall on the Kaveri river in the Dharmapuri district. It is located 46 km from Dharmapuri. This is one of the major tourist attraction of Kaveri water. Hogenakkal waterfall is also referred to as “Niagara Falls of India,” Tourists take bath referring it as medicinal baths. Many times this place is crowded especially on monsoon.

The time we visited it was too crowded. And place was very dirty. But waterfalls and boating was the best. We came to see one of the beauty of kaveri. And to look the beauty closer, boating is another option.

Boating costed 400 INR for 4 people that day. Season to season or the crowd price may change. 100 INR per head was worth.
Locals do fishing nearby and sell it here, few cook here itself.
As it was summer and too hot, we left very early.
Well this is just a small post to share about ride. I will be writing complete details of Hogenakkal Waterfalls in few days. Stay tuned.
